Unit 5 and 6
Unit 5: Royal Opera House: For our Unit 5 we were tasked with designing and creating an entry for the Royal Opera House design and create challenge. As well as this we also produced Lighting and Sound for Little shop of horrors and 3 versions of Macbeth. For the Royal Opera House challenge I chose to design makeup for 5 characters in Romeo and Juliet. I originally chose to create my designs based around the 4th directors vision given to us, which was to keep the ballet in its original state. To begin my research I looked at previous designs used by the ROH as well as other companies such as the Australian Ballet Company and the New York Ballet Company. I also researched how men and women in the medieval times would wear makeup/have their hair so that I could represent this best in my design.
